National Fire Service

Re-enactments

The vintage vehicle section of the National Fire Service, the original service created in 1941, will be staging demonstrations and re-enactments over the weekend.

A special re-enactment will be staged in Kings Park on Saturday, using water from the River Idle running through the park.

On Sunday, there will be a special 'rescue' re-enactment in the Market Square after the Commemorative Service which starts at 12pm.

Note: today's Fire Service is known as 'UK Fire & Rescue Services' - as we know, they do so much more than fire-fighting.
